Springer TC47 Cigar Stamps (Inspectors Stamps) Pair, 50 Cigars Blue, Unused

Examples of this stamp are very hard to come by in any condition.

A rare unused pair, the stamps pre-canceled as was the practice of cigar inspectors, signed and dated by inspector J. W. Grosvenor on June 22, 1867. The location, though somewhat hard to read, appears to be the 1st taxation district in Illinois.
