L.A. Philatelics & Historical Americana is owned and operated by me, Peter Schwartz, a long-time stamp collector, award-winning philatelic author, researcher, and exhibitor. My inventory reflects my passion for high quality, visually appealing philatelic material and ephemera.
Like many, I was introduced to stamp collecting as a child, only to have the pursuit wane as I got older. My interest was rekindled in my late 20s when I discovered the fascinating world of essays and proofs. Later I ventured into taxpaids and other “back of the book and beyond” items. My latest passion: revenue stamped paper, especially bank checks with imprinted revenue stamps.
My bourse customers consistently say to me “you have such interesting stuff!” And that perfectly sums up my goal as a dealer.
