The printed date line reads 185x, and indeed the company was founded in the mid 1850s. Manuscript date indicates March 4, 1872. The ink of the printed document clearly overprints the revenue stamp, indicating that the company didn’t bother to update the dateline on their printing plate. The paper would have to have been stamped and the tax paid for before printing the certificate itself.
