Engraved, printed in deep green on white paper. The printing ink is extraordinarily thick and has a significantly textured look and feel. Huge margins on 3 sides and more than ample on the bottom — by all appearances a top margin copy.
Signed and dated by a cigar inspector (name illegible) on Feb. 14, 1867 in the 5th taxation district of Pennsylvania.
This is a very scarce stamp, with examples hard to come by in any condition. Rejoined, several repaired tears, very small piece missing from the interior of the design. Upper RH corner has been expertly filled in with matching paper and appears quite seamless when viewed in person.
