A perfect specimen of one of the most gorgeous RN-imprinted checks you could possibly acquire.

Blue and gold on watermarked paper, red serial number. The watermark is quite complex, forming the firm’s name “H.F. Bigler” within a framed, lattice-like field. This is visible in the scan, but note that scanning causes the lattice figures to make the paper appear mottled or cloudy. You will not see this under normal lighting conditions.

The paper was first imprinted with the J5 imprint. Then the blue ink was printed followed by the gold overlay. Registration between gold and blue inks is remarkably good. The red serial number is an overprint on the blue “No.” field.
