Black and blue on parchment-like paper. Stock certificate for 100 shares with incredibly detailed vignettes. The stamps on front and back reflect issues of the 19th and 20th centuries: the $5 R175 on front was issued in 1898, and the Stock Transfer-overprinted stamps on the back were issued in 1914 and later. Also affixed are twenty New York State stock transfer tax stamps totaling $92.66 in tax, with the same amount paid with federal tax stamps. The total amount of tax represented by stamps on this certificate is $190.32!
