Two must-have references for the student of U.S. postage essays — Edward Mason’s handbook “Essays” (1911, 90 pages), and the addendum, “More Essays” (1912, 13 pages). Published by the American Philatelic Society.
Both copies are ex-Majorie & Alvin Kantor, authors of the seminal book on Sanitary Fair Stamps. Their bookplate is attached to the inside cover of “Essays”, and a handstamp in “More Essays” indicates provenance on its title page.
