An attractive check, green on white paper, printed by Moss & Co. Philadelphia. Unlisted in Castenholz with a ms. name change to the successor bank. Note that the check was printed with an 186_ dateline but was issued in 1882. Purple cashier’s handstamp indicating the successor bank’s name.
Typical cut cancelation. Also punched with three square holes, which is unusual. It is not known if these punches were an adjunct to the cut cancel, or if they aided in obliterating the former bank’s name. Trimmed left and right.
