$35.00
Black on white paper, an illustrated receipt issued for $100. The major railroading vignette depicts a 4-4-0 locomotive in the foreground pulling a short passenger train, another train the background making a water crossing, and a third in the distance. There’s some quite charming additional detail to discover under magnification. Minor vignette of a 4-2-0 locomotive at bottom.
The stamp itself is rather special, very fresh in appearance, F-VF. The ink is bright and thick and has significant ink “height” characteristic of intaglio engraving and printing. Last but not least, there is a double transfer in “BANK CHECK,” where a line appears to connect the letters.
Mentioning for accuracy some creases and two small stains.
