Black on pink “Indemnity” safety paper — very similar to the National Safety Paper used for checks (several of which you’ll find in our inventory — search for “National Safety Paper” within quotation marks). To the naked eye, the paper appears to have a prominent watermark but the pattern disappears when held to the light.
Tax handstamp indicates TAX – 2¢ with space for writing the altered amount of the check — in this case, from $8 to $8.02
