Engraved, black on proof paper, mounted on stiff brown card with printed die number in black. The card backing is actually a portion of an ABNC file folder that contained information about the vignette. A very light pencil notation on the back “TC” likely refers to Toppan, Carpenter & Co, or possibly their previous incarnation as Toppan, Carpenter, Casilear & Co.
