An invitation, in the form of a large placard, to attend the opening of the New York Produce Exchange Building in 1884. Printed on very thick stock measuring 9 3/4″ x 7 3/8″. Highly detailed illustration of the new Exchange Building and surroundings. The embossed gold seal is a work of art in and of itself with its allegory of commerce (see close-up scan).

Inconsequential mounting remnants on back mentioned for accuracy, light edge toning.

Provenance: The William A. Keegan family scrapbook, spanning 1856 to ca. 1903. Three members of the Keegan family worked for the American Bank Note Company, one of whom was employed as a plate printer.
