Provenance: The William A. Keegan family scrapbook, spanning 1856 to ca. 1903. Three members of the Keegan family worked for the American Bank Note Company, one of whom was employed as a plate printer.
Description: This bucolic scene of a boat entering a canal lock was rendered within an oval frame flanked by allegorical female figures. Overall dimensions, including the portion of the album page to which the proof was originally mounted, are 7.5″ x 4.75″. Very light foxing on the upper edge of the card, a few small spots above the title, otherwise very fresh and clean.
