Black and gold ink on bluish paper. Central vignette of an aster printed in gold as is the company name at left. The check is not stamped because the bank check tax was no longer in effect. The March 31, 1898 date falls before the July 1898 reinstatement of the bank check tax.

Some condition faults, old-time repair on the back to seal a spindle cut (does not show through the face).
