A marvelous pair of hydrometers with enclosed Series 1936 internal revenue stamps. Comes with original wooden tray with spring metal and leather holding the devices in place. Each device has a different specific gravity scale and colored ballast. Stamps are black with red serial numbers, vignette of president Hayes, facsimile signature of I.R. Commissioner Guy T. Helverring who held that position from 1933 to 1943.
No breaks or chips. Typical ballast displacement does not affect the accuracy of their measurements.
