A scarce stamp. This is a punched remainder, green and black on green paper with red “Z” serial number, Lincoln vignette. Printed by American Bank Note Co. On the back is a purple backband, as issued.
By all accounts this stamp appears to be in used condition, the form portion having been filled out. But it was not signed by the storekeeper and the coupon was not cut to indicate the gallonage (35 gallons). Therefore, technically it is an unused remainder, but in used condition.
